Yah janatantra hai, kisi ke baap ka tantra nahi
by Vishal Sharma on Jul 08, 2008 06:52 PM

Shame on the UPA govt for not sharing with the nation the complete text of the IAEA. How is the nation to know whether it is in our supreme interest or not? How are we to have a healthy debate on it? Are we, the people of India expected to have blind faith in the government? I wonder if the US Administration could also state to the US Congress and Senate that it cannot declare the full details of any deal being done on behalf of the ENTIRE nation? The secrecy behind the deal scares me more, as an ordinary Indian, than it enthuses me. Atleast the government must share it with the opposition BJP so that the entire spectrum of the Indian political diaspora is made aware of the repurcussions of inking a deal with the Americans! The entire American foreign policy mechanism is too short-sighted to even last through a single Presidency, what to talk of a decade or a generation! Hence, I plead, PLEASE Mr. Prime Minister Sir, do you know what you are doing? Please sir, as your tenure ends, leave behind a legacy that will benefit future generations, and not mess up things even more as your party has been prone to in the past.
