Division by caste is only social, division by belief is religious and more damaging.

Why is a physical prophet necessary?
God is not the idol - idol is just a means of attaining God. After the vision is attained, idol is to be discarded. But no such higher consciousness in Islam. Allah is God, Muhammad is prophet and that's it.
That Hinduism has survived after so many determined attempts to destroy it tells one something about its intrinsic ability to adapt - that's why it is called Sanatana Dharma.
