Congress ''Betrayal'' and Communists charge sheet
by jamsheed basha abumohammed on Jul 06, 2008 07:30 PM

Felt "Betrayed",the CPI(M), CPI, RSP and Forward Bloc will come out with a "chargesheet" citing UPA's several drawbacks and failures, including "rising prices and inflation, surrendering of national interest, and unkept promises with regard to the Common Minimum Programme (CMP)". If what is reported is true, it is most unfortunate as anything at this juncture against the UPA Govt would certainly help the waiting Safron Brigade to take advantage of it.The Communists' are queering the pitch for the BJP to make a cake walk in the next elections. It is advisable for them not to precipitate the matter that will eventually help the communal forces. It is time to unite with all like minded parties against the communal forces which is more dangerous than the imperialism as pronounced by Amar Singh recently. There are failures on the part of the UPA Govt on various fronts including price rise, high inflation etc., but their biggest liability were two Ministers, FM and Oil Ministers. The Communists must join SP in demanding their ouster from the Cabinet or shift to other Ministries. This would send a positive signal to the people that Govt is keen to solve their problems. The Price Band suggested by FM at Jeddah Meet as expected met with failure as OPEC rejected it outrightly. There is an urgent need to address more crucial problems facing the common man today like curb the price rise of all commodities, make petro products cheaper by decalring tax holidays for a limited period etc.
