Samajwadi Party has done well to extend support to the congress on the issue of India-US nuclear deal as it is in the ingterest of the nation. However, on the issue of Amar's comments about defending India against communalism, the public perception is that the present deal is oppurtunistic and for saving their own existence in UP where SP faces bleak prospects in the coming LS elections. No political party is secular and the so called secular parties including SP shamelessly play muslim card and incite them to vote for them. If appealing to Hindus to vote for the party is communalism, what is it in which congress, left, BSP,SP,Muslim League indulge all the time?
Politicians plesase what is good for the nation as in this case SP has done but do not brag that this is to sace the country from communalism.
