On Monday, June 30, 2008, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Y S Rajasekhara Reddy (Congress party) announced the following measures for Christians:
Formation of Christian Minority Commission Subsidized travel to Holy Land (Jerusalem or Vatican) for 1000 Christians (similar to Haj subsidy of Muslims) Allocation of free land and homes to Christian pastors Reservation for Christians (Reservation for Muslims already approved by Supreme Court)
