Can you show where Hindus point to their religious texts and say that those should be the basis of secular law?

Hindus have accepted the secular civil code, and bigamy is an offense. There may be individual cases, but that does not invalidate the fact that Hindus have progressive ideals, just like a few murders do not prove that murder is not recognised as a great crime.

Compare this attitude to Muslims, who insist on having their personal law according to Sharia, rather than a uniform civil code.

If you see nothing wrong in bigamy, you should see nothing wrong in bi-andry either.

If Islam prescribes one marriage, why do Muslims not agitate to have this prescription followed, by accepting a uniform civil code?
