Left parties are number one opportunists
by mallaiah anchoori on Jul 04, 2008 09:59 PM

Why these repeated ultimatums by the left?if they have guts, let them do it.Repetition of such threats will only expose their mind of not being certain on the propriety of what they intend to do.Why should they wait for a formal letter from the govt of its stnd?It becomes widely known & conspicious when the govt signs the deal.No secrecy is involved in that. What were they doing all these 3 years when Dr singh,in principle, nodded his head for the deal?If they felt that the deal would be ininmical to national interests, they need not have waited for such long to pull the carpet.Despite making very loud sounds about the national interests which they never consider factually, they hardly know the pulse of the people which is"for" the deal.Oblivious to the fact that USA & China are on trade pacts keeping their ideological differences of capitalism & communism respectively, since long, they still feel that they are the only champions to follow the foot prints of Mao and hence should oppose the deal with USA.Let them not be under the illusion that people would appreciate & vote for them if they make this as an election plank;on the contrary,it may have a negative effect even in their own citadel of West Bengal, their vote bank.By saying that they can not be"opportunistic on policy" issues, they are indirectly hinting to join hands with BJP with different ideology and policy against their own avowed acclaimation of being diagnally opposed to fundamentalism. Is it not opportunism on policy?
