Worst traffic mess near Saki Naka and Jari Mari
by Jayaprakash Balan on Jul 04, 2008 03:08 PM

Its been 50 years of independence and I have seen that the situation of traffic jams are the same at Saki Naka and Jari Mari. I wonder what survey had the Shiv Sena Govt. done when they decided to built 55 flyovers. Were they blind to see these two spots. A flyover at Saki Naka junction was a must. And with Andheri - Kurla road growing phenomenally with new companies coming and shifting over here, traffic and the people who go to work here is tripled, but neither the Govt. nor RTO is ever concerned about it. From Saki Naka to Kamani is just about 15 minutes running, but any evening time it takes more than an hour. And such is the situation in that belt that even if an auto takes a U-turn, there will be a huge jam. Ideally, there should be atleast 8 traffic policemen patrolling in that belt at intervals round the clock.
