This city is DYING
by fabiola on Jul 04, 2008 05:00 PM

I have spent 5 hours to cover a distance of 20 kms today..
And no one had a clue as to why there was a jam on the W E Highway today.. some thought it was an accident.. otheres thought maybe there was some agitation...
Some even thought maybe one of the flyovers had caved in!!

Among rumours people waited patiently.. and impatienty to clear the stretch.

But what I found as I dragged my car through the jam.. was that there really was no specific reason.. All I cud see at the bottleneck at Santacruz airport was BMC workers... trying to fill potholes..
As a result of which only 2 lanes were open to the traffic to flow..
And which had resulted in a traffic pile up All the way to Malad.
Now if the authorities thought that filling potholes during office hours.. on the side where the traffic would most definitely be dense is the right way to do it..
Then God help us..

God help this city..
