ADDICTED TO CHAOS by ar.gm@rediffmail.com

It’s WAR!!! The biggest regret I have in staying in this city called Mumbai. Traveling from Dindoshi to BKC by Bike or Car everyday drains me mentally and physically. Killing me softly day by day, I try to keep patience, but some time seem like crashing all the cars in front of me or drive a tanker instead, crushing all the cars to get rid of the chaos!! Maybe a flying car might help in future. But it is really the ultimate torture and testing of patience!!
Being an urban planner student, I have always tried to think about easier ways of calming the traffic. We thought about the up gradation of public transport, namely the BRTS, which requires special dedicated lanes. But they seem to fail as Mumbaikars just wont leave the comfort of the car (Maybe they are very proud to own it or maybe it’s from the company hence kaun free ka maal chodega). Also the BRTS will further squeeze the lane creating chaos in traffic. Trains ka to chance hi nahin hai. I have promised myself never to travel again in train after being almost killed twice from the horrific crowd.
Maybe we could have taken up the sky bus a bit seriously, but I don’t know why our Politicians don’t want it. They are making Metro(Finally…phew..), but what’s the point in making the east-west corridor first which will take around 3yrs and the north-south thereafter, which will take more two-three yrs!!
There is simply no escape!! The torture story continues. Adding to the chaos is my most ha
