Osama
by A Singh on Jul 06, 2008 10:25 AM

Gandhi was born in a well to do family, who could have lived a comfortable life; practicing Law in Indian courts. Jawahal Lal Nehru was born in an afluent family, who could have lived in luxary without making an effort.
We revere these personalities, because they chose to sacrifice their comforts for the sake of their principles.
Similarly, Osam Bin Laden was born to a billionaire. He could have lived in luxary, but for most of his life, he slept in caves, ate common man's food, and put his body under extreme stress. Now he is dying without medication. He chose this life for himself, over the luxaries, which make men soft.
He has done it for the sake of his principles; his belief in the concept of Islamic Rule.
Nehru (So we are told) sacrificed bodily comforts for some time, and his coming generations are still reaping its fruits.
Osama too, has lived a saint's life, and should be recognised like Gandhi and Nehru.
History afterall depends upon the person writing it. If at some point of time, Islam does happen to rule the world, Osama will be taught about in history, in the same vein, as Jesus Christ.
He has fought with strongest of enemies on the strength of his conviction.
We may not agree with him, but we have to salute him for all he has gone through, out of his own choice.
