US has no nuclear energy growth because OIL was cheap and plentiful so far. The Oil and automobile lobbies have been against any new energy and environmental standards ...its only now that the dirty matter has hit the cieling that all new forms of energy will be explored. Harnessing the power of atom is the only way to create plentiful energy in future. All other forms including wind and hydel are flaky at best.
