India does not need another Nuclear test as there is nothing to prove to anybody since we are already a Nuclear Country. 2) India is full with Thorium deposits, India needs Uranium, and Urnanium can can only be supplied by the countries which fall into the NSG. 3) Nuclear energy is given importance to take a bit of load from our oil imports, remember the inflation rate is going high in our country because of Indias heavy dependence on oil, and Nuclear energy will be beneficial in long run, so even the developed countries also support Nuclear energy. You are talking about oil prices i think India has still done well by keeping the price under check, you need to check the oil prices in US they are still soaring even though US is know to supply oil to countries like Japan, China tell me why didnt they stoip their supplied to China and Japan and reduced the oil prices over here. The day by day rise in oil prices is nothing but a big scam as there is not such great increase in demand for oil against its production but still the prices are rising. This could be one of the step taken by the wester countries to curb the growth of developing countries like India which depends heavily on oil imports for its energy requirements. India is too much dependent on Oil so we need to have the alternate source of energy which could marginally reduce our dependence on oil.
Thats the reason i think this deal is very important.
