The issue of being a nuclear power state and keep doing nuclear testing for military purposes will always be of low priority as comapred to the priorites mentioned by you. These priorities will always remain before India for the years to come. Does that mean we should not have nuclear inspiration at all unless we address the priority issues? This is not how a country runs.
Even China is having the same problems (with less degree) but it still has imperialistic and expansionist aspirations and want to become most powerful nation in the world.
Communists have always vehemently opposed the Indian governments in past whenever they had done nuclear testing. Now all of a sudden they are crying that the 123 treaty will not allow India to do nuclear testing. This is double standards at its best.
They haven't pull their support from the government when it was inactive in controling inflation but all the hell break loose when the govt decided to go ahead with 123 treaty. This shows what is the priority of left parties. They can tolerate inflation but not the treaty. They have exposed themselves of their true colours and they still claim that they are for the poor mass, who don't know even abc of the treaty.
