Proud Indian
by Hidayathulla Shariff on Jul 01, 2008 02:57 PM

Dear All,

I've been reading all comments from past couple of days regarding amarnath land row. Before we comment we should know the fact before us. What I understand from my Kashmiri friends is that they are not against hindus in general and amarnath yatra in particular. SInce generations, Kashmiris have been providing shelter and food to the yatris and they say that they gonna continue with that for years to come. They think that Kashmir is a disputed territory in the UN and needs to be resolved as early as possible. It was even accepted by the 1st PM of India Mr. Nehru that Kashmiri's have their own right to freedom and he also advocated in knowing the opinion of Kashmiris as to whether they want to be a part of India or Pakistan or want an independant state. That right has not yet been given to the Kashmiris till today.

Iam not a Kashmiri and neither in support of any group which plans to harm my country-India. I see a lot of hatred against Islam whether it is related to Islam or not. My fellow Indians lets not disrespect any religion. Lets live peacefully as indians and contribute to the nation with our intellect. Remember peace cannot prevail unless we go to the roots of the problems of individuals and try to solve them through negotiations and not by force.

Any comments??
