No Bengalee Chauvinism required to prove the worth of three handsome men-Netaji, Tagore and Swami Vivekananda. Three main left parties were founded by Bongs -Congress by Banerjee,Jana Sangh by Mukherjee, CPI by Roy and Forward Block by Netaji. So dubbing Bengalees as leftys will only riducule Indian heritage. In Calcutta, Bengalees are outnunbered by non-Bengalees but locales never respond to the call of Amra Bangali kind of actions. Yes, the saddest part is that Bengalee political leadership never ever rose to the occasion to really convert the intellects of thousands of brilliant young minds into wealth for the society. The CIRCUS and political acrobatics right from Singur to Padma award to Mr. Pranab Mukherjee (who has been bereft number of times of his actual worthiness)bear testimony to the fact that WEST BENGAL HAS BECOME REALLY A HAPPY HUNTING GROUND FOR GREEDY UNPRODUCTIVE politicians. No Atulya Ghosh's voice is heard in Congress nor Ajay Ghosh genre is found within the CPM. I am no great admirer of Tasleema Nashrin, she smacks of Jaseemuddin, Adyita Mallabarman and many other highly talented literary figures of Bangladesh, however, the way Bengal succumbed to the pressure of Fundamentalists for electoral gain is really unbelievable. So, Bengal is sinking, the lost pride of bengalees now are rested with Prabasi Bangalis, who live outside Bengal and India. Certainly, chauvinism is no answer, what Bengalees should prove with example is to foster a CULTURE OF DEVELOPMENT
