France is a model India must look upto. No crap is tolerated from any religious group - you are free to practice what you want in your private life - but the government will stay out of your relationship with God which is none of its business. India has distorted secularism by making it mean a proactive respect for all religions when it is not its business to either respect or disrespect any religion. In the end it ends up appeasing all religious groups thereby resulting in the communal mess that we have got into.
