RE:Truly modern secular state
by on Feb 01, 2008 02:34 AM

Not to fool ourselves by treating France as a Model to follow. In fact India has to look back to its own history to modernize and revitalize itself. Not to expect anybody would comfort or help (for ex. bring abundant electric power supply). In other words 'everything is for a price.'

- Mr. Sarcozy appears like a Napolian in French politics of our time (remember Napolian lost 50% of his battles against his sick Europian opponents), we will have to observe his career and see.

- France is traditionally inclined to becoming a pseudo-islamic type of nation over its course of long history - most often supporing sultans (often mad) (Turks, North Africans etc. some times sultans in India too), so its not a surprise they banned Turbonators wearing Turbons.

- France is part of the West. And Mr. Sarkozy is proud of it (I guess) - though he was born to Hungarian parents.

- Not the least to say - France is always the loser - definitely NOT something to emulate.

But with all sincerity I always wish them the best they can acheive.

- Ram
