Mr.Pandey was a freedom fighter. He is supposed to be from the high caste, Brahmin. When he went to Gandhiji to seek the latter's blessins in Sabarmati Ashram and enlist himself as a freedom fighter, Gandhiji allotted to Pandey the work of cleaning the latrines. Pandey has said that he gladly undertook the work without any remorse or detestation. But now who claim to be followers of Gandhiji, like the Janpath family, cannot think of undertaking such jobs!
