This is yet another example of Foreign Policy failure. The Government's obsession with China and the west and the grandiose desire of gaining a permanent seat in Security Council has alienated a good neighbour and driven her straight into the arms of our sworn and arch enemy.
The Pakistanis will now get a foothold in Sri Lanka and thus we shall be surrounded by unfriendly (SOME OF THEM OUTRIGHT HOSTILE---READ PAKISTAN and BANGLADESH) neighbours all around.
It is also possible that India is supporting the LTTE clandestinely and arming the LTTE to fight the government in COLOMBO.This may be the reason for the Sri Lankans hobnobbing with the Pakistanis.
