What an Army.
by arun arun on Jan 16, 2008 03:47 PM

Well, this is what happens if the defence forces of a country tries to run a nation rather than training for exactly this kind of action. Years and years of fattening on foreign aid funds and govt funding has resulted in an abysmally low on morale army. The lower rung of the pak army is totally disillusioed with its officer cadre. They see them as whisky sipping ayyaash and certainly not as leaders who would stand by them in times of need of solid leadership. #00 of them 'surrendered' to the militias wihtout firing a bullet. This doesnt happen anywhere in the world. We Indians now have a true picture of the condition of the army in pakistan. Decades of politicking and ammassing of ill gotten wealth is now showing in the tattered fabric of the army. The carefully nurtured '' can do no wrong'' picture which was dished out to the world at large lies in tatters. Just imagine a fully trained army surrendering to militias without getting any reinforcements from their lines is simply RIDICULOUS. The militants have done their homework , and it is only a matter of time when this whole imbroglio turns into a full scale offensive operation where pakistani army will be forced to use force over its own 'subjects'. Two nations born on the same day and look where they are today. One chose the patient way to crawl to success , the other wanted to takethe short cut and ended up cutting its own jugular. The state is truly failed and is really the worst and most dangerous place on earth. welldone
