It is true that Jinnah didn't withdraw his troops from Azad Kashmir, but neither did Nehru from the Indian side. The reasons were obvious. Jinnah wanted a Pakistani Kashmir and Nehru wanted an Indian Kashmir. Neither of them could agree to leave the issue to the sons of the soil %u2013 the Kashmiris - to decide. The result is what you see in Kashmir today. The question of where the son of Kashmir should live and become part and parcel of should not be decided in Islamabad or New Delhi. It should be decided in Srinagar.
