I am a little aware of this attitude that rises out of clumsy social conduct of south Indians in North born out of more traditional out-look. The northerners are less influenced by tradional thinking and hence more violent politically and coarse in conduct. It is from this back-ground of coarseness that the word 'sale madarasi' stems out which is nothing but poor understanding of South India politically and socially. Most of them even today are not aware of four political states of South India and varying cultures. To their concepts; a state means a political entity with a common way expression like Bihar, UP, Himachal, Rajastan, Punjab etc where the diaelct of communication is almost the same. Again for them, Orissa, WB, Assam etc fall in the same catagory. They also fall prey to this false notion that if UP can be managed politically, India can be managed. A very few, who happen to come in contact with south due professional reasons or have settled in south for historical reasons, are aware of southern heterogenuity. They dont have any respect for southern political leaders and not unreasonably most of the southern leaders are fond of shouting "Jai" for this or that northern political leaders as more corruption and more crime can be sheltered in northen political leaders where tradition and norms have less space to capture. The southern leaders talking of tradition, (still available here and there in South by mistake), norms and ethics in politics are only out-caste.
