The discussion veers around to the much-discussed topic called corruption. The bureaucracy must be sensitised to the plight of the masses and strict action should be taken against corrupt officials. Even today, any relief provided by the Govt. by way of doles for the rural poor is siphoned off by all people starting from the Tehsildar, block development officer or village administrative officer etc. Ensure funds allocated for the poor go fully to the target sections. Mercilessly punish corrupt officials. Secondly, create a mechanism by which the bureaucracy can become more responsive to complaints from people. expectations of Indians are very simple: bijli, sadak, pani! If a govt. fulfills these three, it can for ever remain in power. But when there is no response or means for redressal, then there is bound to be extraconstiutional powers that fill in the vacuum created by bureucratic apathy
