You seem to have forgotten that it was the same Rajiv Gandhi who had sent planeloads of relief material accompanied with a Mirage fighterjet into the Srilankan airspace to protect the Tamils. IPKF had gone there to protect the Tamils, not the Srilankans. 2000 soldiers of IPKF died because the LTTE went back on their word, apparently emboldened by the Indian support, they wanted more. Rajiv Gandhi had tried to help the Srilankan Tamils & see what he got back. We should leave them alone in the mess they have created for themselves. Indira Gandhi tried to help them, Rajiv Gandhi tried, it's only after 91 that India finally realized the monster LTTE is & washed India's hands off LTTE.
