Sikhs are basically a peace loving people and believe in peaceful co existence with dignity ie "Sarbat da bhalaa" but have never forgiven any anti Sikh act or person throughout their history ."Sarbat daa bhala" means "peace and prosperity" for all . The govt and the media may try to project Sikhs as whatever way they want ie violent people or jokers or anti this and anti that .But everyone in Punjab knows what Sikhs really are.
Neither have the Sikhs tolerated assimilation (directly or indirectly)of their religion earlier by Mughals and these days by fascist hindutva forces .
Sikhs ARE NOT Hindus.
Ask anyone from Punjab and they will tell you what I mean.
