Nice analysis
by Rupakshi on Feb 27, 2008 08:39 PM

Last night I watched the debate between Obama and Clinton. Obama's talk is very attractive. The fact is Clinton is more pragmatic. Talking nice is one thing. The next president is going to inherit a mess that no president in American history did. The depression is nothing compared to the problems created by Bush administration. We want to hear good things, not reality.
American want to lie their way to victory as they lied their way into war. Not that Obama wants to mislead, but has the ability to tell what we want to hear. Clinto makes the error of telling what you do not want to hear. I will vote Obama, not because he can achieve even a fraction of what he promises, but because no one can do worse than what is now. Srinivasan's article is balanced and real as usual. Unlike in India which essentially runs the elections on caste basis, race rhetoric is limited here. In India caste and caste alone makes or breaks, in America which is changing fast, they do not want race to play any role.
