Raj is a shrewd manipulator. He understands that we need people from all walks of life to make a city prosper. He knows that Mumbai is the epicenter of India%u2019s economy.
He is basically fighting for lower level jobs in Govt depts. and down the level service jobs (drivers, attendants, shopkeepers etc etc) for Marathis. These are the vote banks. If you further dive deep you will understand his economic sense. Generally govt jobs go for the inefficient bunch of people, who pay bribe and get inside govt jobs and retire. He wants to ensure that only local people are given this job so that he can collect the bribe and make these people employable. This is the first step where his revenue comes in. Regarding lower level service jobs he wants to ensure that locals are given these jobs, so that he can penetrate into such groups, start union for them and make money thru membership fee, goondaism etc etc.
He has opened the lethal box. If he is stopped, in the next election the ruling party will not get the votes from the local population. If he is not arrested, then he will continue such tactics and make life miserable for all.
They say %u2018Time is the best healer%u2019. I do not know in this case whether it will happen.
