Pakistan and Taliban
by Fried Yakov on Feb 25, 2008 07:43 AM

Musharraf will go sooner or later and the Taliban has already started sending feelers to the anti Musharraf coalition (as reported yesterday). So the resurgence of the Taliban in Pakistan is imminent. Meanwhile Bush will be over with his Presidency later this year, and the next incumbent may not prefer US role in Pakistan. As it is the nuclear deal appears to be in the doldrums, and the forces in India complain of lack of upgraded equipment and are stressed by internal security duties. So it is for India to watch out for more jihadis being swept into the country by Pakistan, and take measures accordingly. I hope the government expresses some nationalistic thoughts at this juncture atleast instead of appeasing vote banks.
