Apparently not. There is a Sholapur in Maharashtra as there is Nagpur. Both these places end with "Pur" or "pura" (or ur/ooru). There should be a subject called "Know your India" where they teach everyone about the different places. I am not talking about Geography/History here because they do not teach anything about specific places. This subject should also include languages, culture and historical importance of places too.
