The vast majority of the world's muslims, though they love Islam, do not want sharia to be in force. Of all the world's major religeous groups, it is only sunni Muslims who have, when given the chance to vote, consistently elected moderates. Iran is different, because shia doctrine gives clergy a previleged place, but most sunni muslims are not fond of clergy at all.
