A book perfect to his 5/6th century tribes of the desert lands. These tribes were killing each other and such book was needed to motivate the writers followers. No God can destroy his creation.
Plunder, loot, arson, rape were justified by not Gods....but fighting community to survive the onslaught. Religion was best guise to instill fear. But to make it effective or functional eye for eye tooth for tooth mechanism was found to be effective. .....matching the psyche of the warring tribes of Abrahams descendants !!!....of those days....in those deserts !!!
Brother against brother.....later on against the rest of Gods creation/ humanity as we call it......a satanic killer instinct to destroy what God created or HUMANITY !!!
