Armed forces do not keep data cast or language wise. Indian Army does have Marathi Light Infentory (A Brigade I think, not sure). There are a sizable Marathi people in the Armed forces. I am myself an Ex-Airforce Officer.
In Armed Forces culture a Marathi person is a person who calls himself from Maharashraian, irrespective of the language he speaks at home. However there are very many Marathi speaking persons in the Armed Forces as well.
