There are many marathis in UP. I know because in our company of 800 employees, there were easily 40-50. You saw them all during Ganesh Puja collecting funds and organising. So u ca nimagine total in Up to be several lacs. In Punjab during militancy, many hindsus were killed. Nothing happened but Indira Gandhi's assasination triggered a backlash.
