People of India from different states live,study,work and even play in other cities such as Bangalore,Kolkatta,Chennai,Delhi,Baroda and Chandigarh.Each one of them come from far off places to earn a livelihood are to pursue their avowed vocation.What they contribute to the host city has never been any question. Each one, when they can manage even a week's leave goes back to his home in his native state which is quite normal with every Indian. Why it is only Mumbai and Maharashtra,this intolerance ? Sikhs build Gurudwaras,the Jains their temple and they feel at home and compensated for their loss of native colour and scent ! No other state drives out people periodically for political reasons.Some marginal elements here and there do indulge in some sort of select vandalism when there is an inter-state dispute,but that does not represent the average citizen's views and actions.There is nothing special about any state culture,language or fine arts being superior so long that does not get reflected in the general response of the majority and the specific basis of Indianess of which we are all a greater part.
