Mumbai part of maharshtra???

Technically speaking Bombay city of the british Raj was not a part of maharashtra but a seperate territory something like Goa, where quite a lot of marathi/konkani is spoken. But it is a seperate state. Bomaby became a part of maharashtra less then 50 years ago. Hence there should be no fighting saying that mumbai belongs to maharastra
