Mumbai is built up today mainly by non Marathis. Look at the film industry-- controlled by UP/Delhi/Tamil Nadu. Diamond industry and Stock exchange by Gujjus and Sindhi. Film production by Sindhis and Tamil. Lower clas jobs by Biharis and UPs. Marathis seems to have no contribution at all. Raj Thakary know this and thats why he is instigating such feeling only in Mumbai and not in other parts of Maharashtra.
Infact all great cities are developed by outsiders, be it Calcutta, Dlhi or Chennai. Even across the world New York (by Jews), London (immigrants) and Sanghai (by americans)
The only exception is Chandigarh but then it is developed by Non Resident Punjabis (and not the one living there).
