I think the problem is not about immigration from different parts especially UP and Bihar. It is all about saving language identity. People can work at any place in India, but the local language and traditions should be respected if not followed.
Indians migrating to USA or Australis - do they make fun of the native customs or native language?
In this Rediff forums, North People make fun of traditions/customs in South.
So I think Marathis are fighting for the self-respect and in the process they are questioning the arrogance of Bhayyas as they are not respecting the local language, traditions...
