Idiot Mahesh, This is a country where even strong, 'normal', medically fit people gasp for space, a decent life and some comfort. I think you have not seen a single handicapped person in your life or even dealt with them. Do ANY of public structures or buildings have ANY provision for the disabled. I dunno from which part of the country you are, but to give u a simple example - try getting into a crowded local train in Bombay during peak hours. Now imagine, the plight of a diseased or crippled person. Finally, try, just try spending an hour with a physically or mentally challenged person. And i m not even mentioning the costs involved in medicines and treating them. besides, of course the trauma of seeing your beloved child leading a disabled life. This is a society with NO sympathies for the disabled. So if a parent knows that a child will be born with abnormalities, it is better for them to spare the trauma of a lifetime and abort the foetus. Think from all aspects before jumping to conclusions and blamign the parents.
