Call it Euthanesia or whatever but the Mehta's should have been allowed to abort. Imagine the plight of the 'unborn' when he/she will be born....Why is High Court hell-bent on giving more misery to the Mehtas and the unborn child till he/she lives in this world, especially since they now know the condition of the unborn ?
Is the Indian state/ High Court taking responsibility for providing all medical help and covering of expenses, as is the case in the European countries, during the child's life ?
It is a very irresponsible judgement passed by the High Court without any accountability. The judiciary time and again have passed judgements without understanding the spirit behind the applications.
So they have themselves reduced their role only as being 'enforcers' of law and not the guardians of the law. It is the immaturity of our society that we are not able to distinguish between a genuine and a non-genuine context.
