We are back again full of tragedies and unnecessary deaths. Why doen't the govt. set up a series of safety measures to be respects by any place open to public? Temples included. Once upon a time when there were few people to crowd into temples it was allright to have small passages to walk through before darshan. Now there are always tens of thousands going to witness festivals, special darshan etc; when the govt. has set up safety measures during the Kumbh Mela (we know it is because foreigners are there and the world is watching on TV), why not everywhere else, instead of merely shaking their heads and speaking set phrases of regret for those dead?
Maybe we should invit foreign TV to televise all our temple gatherings, at least this would pressure the govt. into thinking that we Indians too have lives worth somthing.
