TIRUPATHI TEMPLE IN ANDHRA PRADESH
by PR Swamy on Aug 03, 2008 10:25 PM

My sincere condolences to the members of the bereaved families in the stampede incident.

We need to focus on Tirupath temple also where large number of devotees are being regulated by temple authorities. They lock in a room where each devotee has to wait for hours before dharsan of Lord Venketeswara at Tirupathi.

The temple authorities delebrately to show the world that the temple is attracting unmanageable crowd. One can see outside the temple hardly any people because most of the people are locked in compartments.

There is also a problem at the main gate of the temple. Incoming and Outgoing people are being regulated through one common entrance where pulling and pushing is the usual scene in Thirupathi temple.

In my experience, one lady just fell down with her child and I immediately cordoned that place to save her from people walking on her. Such incidence are common in Thirupathi temple.

By locking the devotees in rooms, devotees are not allowed to move freely to pray to god. Opening the room suddently, a sudden rush to see the lord takes place.

Infact, if they allow it freely, I am sure there wont be much crowd.

Devotees can worship the god at their convenient time if they are allowed freely.

GOVERNMENT OF ANDDHRA PRADESH AND TEMPLE AUTHORITIES should make sure that free flow devotees are being arranged.

People go to the temple for peace of mind and not just get locked in a room or get killed like Himachal pradesh incident.

with regards
P
