Arabic was never the language of science..a brief period under the umayyads in Damascus did see a flowering of translations from other ancient cultures like Greece China & India...Europe at that time was under the equally dangerous religion Chrisitianty which as Emperor Julian said destroys the thinking mind...Islam is even more stifling as it destroys all debates and opposition by blasphemy laws...while Christianty yielded to Reformation, Islam further degenerated into a violent culture...the reason is inherent violence in Islam (3 of its first 4 caliphs were murdered), and the fact that Islam's prophet Mohammad was more of a warrior than a man of God.
