Actually, this writer has thrown many points, but rediff highlighted only language part to add masala. In my opinion, everybody should respect his own culture and language, but not by disrespecting other culture and languages. If a person think that Hindi, Kannada or any language is best language, then he/she is the biggest fool. Problem lies with attitude. I don't expect anyone to come in delhi and start talking with me in Telugu/Tamil or Kannnada, so why should I expect that they'll talk to me in Hindi, when I visit those states? Again, solution will not be beating someone on street or burning taxis. All states, particularly those cities where outsiders reside, should have proper learning centre of their own languages. English-Lang/ Hindi-Lang Books should be made available easily on all book stalls. Locals should put a website to teach language. That should be way dear, when you say - voluntarily learn Kannada (or any language).
