Goel,Panchkula, Afternoon, 1/35pm,Tuesday,April 29,2008 I distinctly remember some 30yrs ago I had my cuppa of Kanada Coffee,where i was asked by my local friends in Mysore to see him as the "Public Intellectual " a proud Professor of English in the deptt. of English, Mysore University and world renowned author of Kanada novel quite radical in content and intent Samskar very much in the lime-light.Ananthmuthyji and some one Snehlata Reddy were halloed intellectuals who had defied Indrimma's emergency and stood for ordinary Indians' civil liberties.I was asked by my socialist contacts to try building bridges across the great Vindhya Divide among the different socialist groups from Naxalis to Psp and Lohiajis followers in favour of Indian Languages. I had met and cultivated Bengalis , Andhras and Tamils in and around Central School of languages then Headquartered in Mysore and its bracing pollution free atmosphere of a middle -town..It was a happy delightful time for me, relatively idealistic socialist to build bridges across my own Hindi -Writing and professional Philosophy that I haved one all my adult life , and was supposed to be an initiated expert in areas of Logic and Scientific Methodology , in fact i was there for a symposium on some obscure academic formats of Verifiability and others with Scientific workers at CFTRI,Mysore,They led me to Sri Ananthmurthy's gracious home , without any postures...we enjoyed that hour's chat on matters of socialist interests Sin
