RE:A wrong for a wrong
by Indori Baba on Apr 27, 2008 08:02 PM

Again, the current punishments are adequate. The problem is implementation. Since hardly, anyone gets convicted rapes, molestation are on rise. The rape conviction rate in India is less than 1 %.If you can spend some money that probability becomes almost nil. So anyone can rape in India without fear of conviction. It is not the punishement, but surety that there can be no conviction that makes people commit crime. Also, woman have started crying rape in all situations where it is not correct. Ex
(1) Madhur bhandar case. How was that a rape. We all know it was with consent.
(2) Now a days woman have sexual relationship with men, and when men do not agree to marry they claim rape.
Such cases are more than the genuine cases. And that is why it looks like law is not working. First woman folk must do introspection. In India, the great culture we have woman have been treated like Bahu, Maa but never raped.
