Avinash, you seem like a well read person and that's good for you. What you are referring to is the Dark Age in the History of Christianity. Scores of attrocities took place and it is a part of history and its not brushed under the carpet. But during the 1500's a reformation was led which resulted in the Bible now being translated in the vernacular of the people. No longer were the masses blindly led by some treacherous clergy men. Up until then it was punishable to have the Bible and discourse said in any other language than latin, so all these inquisition did happen, but yet again they were done against the teaching of Christ. That's why any Bible believing Christian cannot accept the teaching of violence. There's only apparent Contradictions raised by skeptics, but they have been answered by Christian Scholars very easily, one good scholarly work is by a person called Norman Geisler. Check that out! By the way, what World View do you hold to? I ask that, since I am impressed by what you have written so far. Not many spend time reading matters such as these.
