Congress has given up before campaiging begins. Only interest remaining now is how big is BJP majority. Is it few seats short of majority to more than 2/3rd majority. Contest between Yediyurappa and Bangarappa fielded by combined opposition(Congress, JD(S) and others). Yediyurappa will win and it will be the end of Bangarappa's political career.
None of the congress leaders are confident. Krishna chickened out of contest. Siddaramiah asked for 2 seats and was given only one where he faces a strong BJP opponent.
