Dear All,

Two senior members of the Central UPA Cabinet have recently aired their views regarding proclaiming Rahul Gandhi as Prime Ministerial candidate before the next General Elections, due early next year. They have said that Rahul has the necessary qualification and experience in abundance to befit that proclamation.

One of the above two proclaimers is HRD Minister who presides over his huge portfolio which covers IITs, IIMs etc., and also periodically enables advertisements in newspapers calling for the posts of Directors, Professor etc., to head these institutions and lists inclusion of several doctorate degrees and vast field experience as necessary adjuncts to their curriculum vitae.

The same worthy Minister, in his 80 plus already, delightfully foregoes any qualification and experience requirements for the topmost political office of the country and unwillingly promotes a young gentleman to the post only on the basis of his birth. Such things are possible in a monarchy and not in a democracy. Dynasty to the fore %u2014 whatever it is. Such mischievous state- ments by reasonable Cabinet colleagues will embarrass the Prime Minister in an election year.

Quite surprisingly the Congress bosses have read the writing on the wall and supposedly belittled the statements of the two Ministers as of no consequence.
