Great Marathi Rulers!
by UP Guy on Apr 19, 2008 11:52 AM

Marathas had three major kingdoms: (a) Peshwas of Pune,
(b) Holkars of Indore and (c) Scindias of Gwalior.
Is it not true:

(a) These kings were fighting with each other all the
time and killed so many of their fellow Marathis
in the process. Don't believe me! Just go and
check wikipedia. With so many fights amongst themselves they had no time or energy left to fight britishers.

(b) They were very opportunistic and collaborated with
any foreign ruler whenever needed. Scindias were
a great collaborator of the British and even
got Jhansi ki Rani killed in the process.

With all these 'fabulous' things about Marathis, actually I am extremely ashamed of these people and
am embarrassed to call them compatriots.
